The ship type switch is also called the rocker switch. So how do you think about the quality of the rocker switch? The appearance of brass is bright yellow, excellent electrical conductivity, soft texture, wear resistance but not good performance in terms of oxidation resistance and toughness (elasticity). After long-term use of brass, the surface of the copper part will be oxidized and rusted, and the color will become darker, which will increase the contact resistance. After repeated insertion and removal, the brass piece will have poor toughness and severe deformation, often failing to take power, or due to poor contact. An electric arc is formed and power cannot be used safely. At present, the mainstream ship type switches use tin phosphor bronze as the copper material. The appearance of tin-phosphorus bronze alloy is purple-red. The biggest feature is its high fatigue resistance, strong elasticity, excellent corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance. Even after long-term use, its surface will not be oxidized and corroded.
Consider the thickness of the copper piece. If you can‘t open the product for visual inspection, you can use the simple hand weight. The more the copper parts are used, the heavier the weight of the socket. The big brand of socket products is basically made of tin-phosphorus bronze as a current-carrying part, so as to ensure the normal service life of the socket for more than 12 years.
